About Us
Welcome to the home of the Falcons! Rachel Carson Elementary is the newest LWSD elementary school on the Sammamish Plateau. Its doors opened September 2008. The building will feature an environmentally friendly green roof, along with other green features.

PEDAGOGY

  • Whole child: art, drama, sports, etc.
  • Integrate as much as possible; all subjects including music, P.E., library
  • All students are exposed to the general education curriculum
  • Encourage performance-based projects
  • Clear scope/sequence that challenges students
  • Provide opportunities for students to perform at their ability
  • Life skills / Life-long learners

 BEHAVIORAL MANAGEMENT

  • Genuinely acknowledge positive behaviors, choices, etc., of staff, students, and parents
