Mrs. Tremblay is our wonderful counselor!

Hello Bobcat Families! My name is Laura Tremblay, the school counselor at Blackwell.  Many of your students know me as Ms. Rupp as I was married over the summer and have changed my name.  I am very excited about the 2011-2012 school year.  This year I will be giving guidance lessons in all classrooms.  K-2nd grade students will learn through the “KELSO” the frog curriculum (problem-solving skills) and 3rd- 6th grade students will focus on the Steps to Respect curriculum (anti-bullying program).  I will continue to meet with small groups throughout the year on various topics which may include friendship, anger management and other areas as needed.  Throughout the year, I meet with students individually when working through challenging times and I always love to connect with students on their successes as well.  This year Blackwell will also be introducing a new program called Rachel’s ChallengeRachel’s Challenge is a nation-wide program which focuses creating a positive culture within the school and community through a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.  My door is always open!  I am excited to connect with families while I support our Blackwell students.
