Blackwell is a great place to learn!  This school year our theme has been "READ."  If you read, you will succeed!

"Our school is a unique community where students, parents, and educators come together to create the highest quality learning environment. Academic goals focus on the acquisition of basic skills and on the application of these skills to meaningful and relevant work that has application throughout life. There is an emphasis on skill and concept development in the areas of reading, writing, mathematics, and science. By committing the time and resources necessary to support our students in acquiring these skills and concepts, we have established the foundation necessary for students to become independent thinkers who are capable of contributing to our community and world."  Principal Stephen Bryant

Curriculum
All staff members at Blackwell work to ensure our students (including first graders who graduate in 2020) are prepared for the challenges of the future!
Mathematics
We would like to enlist your help ensuring that students are engaged in daily math practice throughout the summer break.
Reading Programs
Blackwell offers several programs to increase student success in reading.
Special Education
Special Education serves students with disabilities and special needs, as well as their families. Students who qualify receive specially designed instruction either in our Resource Room or with support in their general education classroom.
Technology
Lake Washington School District is a nationally recognized leader in using technology in the classroom and has been for the last two decades. Blackwell Elementary uses technology on a daily basis to enhance the education of our students.
