School Lunch Policy
We have had a slight increase in the number of student lunch accounts with negative balances. The following information outlines our school and LWSD lunch account policy.
Students will be allowed two (2) emergency lunches
An emergency lunch is when there is not enough money in the student’s account to pay for lunch on that day. The student will be given a lunch and the account will be charged the regular lunch price of $2.25. After there are two such charges to the account, the student will be asked to bring cash or a lunch from home each day until a deposit can be made to their meal account. We understand that on occasion there are special circumstances and allowances may be possible when the school is contacted.
Please note: After the two (2) emergency lunches - if lunch money or a lunch from home is not sent with the student, we will give the student a drink and fruit and their account will be charged $.60. We will not let the student go all day without something to eat.
To help keep you and your students informed on the status of their account, a letter or notice will be sent home
Negative Balance Letters:
These are to inform the family that a student’s lunch account is out of money and has a negative balance. These letters also indicate the amount that is owed. The letters will be sent home as needed.
Notices:
These are a green envelope with a note attached that states the student has a negative balance.
You may check your student’s account on line by going through Parent Access.
Pre-payments to student lunch accounts can easily be made:
1. Send a check or cash directly to A.G. Bell. Please include your student/s FULL NAME and teacher ‘s name.
2. Call the LWSD Food Service office at 425-702-3393 and charge the pre-payment to a Visa or MasterCard.
3. Set up an Automatic Monthly Withdrawal by contacting the LWSD Food Service office at 425-702-3393.
By maintaining a POSITIVE balance in a student’s meal account, it makes the lines go much faster and prevents embarrassing and upsetting moments for the student.
If you have any questions, please contact the A.G. Bell Office at 425-936-2510.
Thank you.
