 Primroses at Bell

Thank you to Boris Gaviria a gentleman from our neighborhood who took it upon himself to plant some lovely primroses January 2011 at our entrance near our A.G. Bell sign! Thanks for the community support!

AG Bell Thanks the LWSF for Grants Totalling $7,500!

We just received exceptional news from the Lake Washington Schools Foundation.  All 5 of our grant applications have been fully funded! Included in these grant applications was funding for:

Summer School/Read Well: $1,500
Library Boys Reading Project: $1,500
Math Explorations/Math Clubs (2 grants): $3,000
5/6 Literature Circles: $1,500
Total Coinage Coming Our Way: $7,500

To put things in perspective, $7,500 dollars is well over 15% of our total yearly budget (much of which simply goes for copy paper and general classroom supplies).

This money represents some very hard work by A.G. Bell teachers to create and implement programs that meet a variety of student needs and furthers my belief that any effort we put into  bettering our practice and/or meeting student needs will be well supported within our community. Thank you to all who wrote and will implement these grants.  Most of all, thank you to the Lake Washington Schools Foundation for their generous support of A.G. Bell students!

 Community SERVE Day

Bell is very grateful for the community members from Northshore Baptist, Overlake Christian & Eastside Foursquare churches who volunteered to clean our grounds and help set up classrooms during the summers of 2009 and 2010 as part of CommunityServe Day.

We are delighted to be able to put our best face forward when our students arrive to begin their new school year thanks to your hard work.
