Craig Madsen

Mr. Madsen grew up in Everett with six sisters and one brother. His favorite elementary school memory is the time he spent in the principal's office. His favorite teacher was Sister Rose Valerie. Mr. Madsen recalls that she believed in him and saw his potential before he did.
Mr. Madsen is looking forward to leading the AG Bell team since he enjoys the challenge of stepping into situations that will require collaboration and team work to be successful.
He started his most recent stint in LWSD on August 8th, 2011. However, he was a fifth and sixth grade teacher in LWSD from 1975 - 1985 at Mark Twain and Horace Mann Elementaries. He has also been a principal in the Edmonds School District at four different schools from 1985 until 2005 when he "retired". He was then asked to serve as interim principal in the following schools:
- 2005-2006, Westview K-8, Burlington-Edison School District
- 2006-2007, Totem Falls Elementary, Snohomish School District
- 2007-2009, Woodway Elementary, Edmonds School District
- 2009-2010, Kenmore Elementary, Northshore School District
- 2010-2011, Garfield Elementary, Everett School District.
Mr. Madsen's daughter is a graduate of Lakeview Elementary, Kirkland Junior, and Lake Washington High School. She now works for Seattle Children's Hospital as an Educational Outreach Specialist after attending Gonzaga and the University of Washington. His wife is an Elementary Principal in the Northshore School District. He has twin eight year old grandchildren (3rd graders) living in Ballard and has a very cool dog, a Wheaton Terrier.
In his spare time, Mr. Madsen enjoys reading, fishing, travel, yard work, and Husky Athletics (GO DAWGS!!)
He is inspired by his many personal role models and Martin Luther King Jr..
