Cathy Daly
Mrs. Daly grew up in Edmonds, Washington. Her favorite teacher was first grade teacher, Mrs. Bird. She remembers her so fondly for the way she encouraged us and taught us to always be kind to each other. They worked hard but it as a time when they laughed and played and had lots of fun. Mrs. Daly is certain Mrs. Bird is a big part of why she loves teaching first graders.
Mrs. Daly has been on staff in 1986 - after being at Bell for 20+ years, she feels the people at Bell are her second family. This is such a great place to come to every day. Many Bell families have become her friends too. It’s great to stay in one place long enough to really belong!
Her husband teaches at Rose Hill Elementary and they always have fun sharing school stories. Together they have taught more than 900 children. That’s a lot of stories to tell! They have 2 Labradors, Silas and Jett, and cat, Jack.
She loves reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, shopping with her sister and drinking lattes. She has a passion for the "Reading with Rover" program and am proud to say that she has one certified Reading with Rover dog with another puppy who will be ready to test in December. The best part is sharing three of her favorite things all in the same place ~ kids, dogs and books! Check out readingwithrover.org to see where the dogs will be next.
Her mom is her hero and role model. Being the most kind, giving person, She makes everyone feel special and spends her life helping those around her. She truly knows the pleasure of a good laugh and can see the special qualities in everyone she meets. Mrs. Daly hopes to grow up just like her.
