Teaching in the Lake Washington School District at Audubon Elementary is a wonderful experience. Early in my career, I taught in Alaska and I received state recognition for my work in special education and specifically for my contribution with the visually impaired and blind students. I relocated to Florida, in the Everglades and Palm Beach County, where I honed my teaching skills as a classroom teacher and also specialized in teaching English Language Learners. I also have taught conversational English in Japan.
When I began teaching here at Audubon, I was the English Language Specialist. I am currently privileged to teach first graders. I’ve taught first grade students for over ten years now. First graders are certainly close to my heart, and I find great happiness in teaching them. The students’ zestful energy keeps me motivated and energized. One of my goals is to lead your child towards the joy of being a lifelong learner! I look forward to a productive and motivating school year.
Family and friends are very important to me. In my leisure time you might find me sailing, playing grandmother, going to the gym, or enjoying an occasional movie night. Sightseeing and travel are also at the top of the list. I believe that music, singing, dancing and laughter are all components to keep our lives full of joy. I continue to explore the great Northwest, and I’m so thrilled to have found my home here!
