What is Fun Run? The Fun Run is the Carl Sandburg/DCS PTSA's major fundraiser.
On Friday, October 9th, Carl Sandburg/DCS students will participate in a Fun Run during their lunch recess. Students will run/walk for 20-minutes around a track while parent volunteers count their laps. Every student will receive a colored ribbon that is based on the number of laps they run.
For two week prior to Fun Run day, students are encouraged to ask friends and family members to donate to our school's PTSA. Students can earn fun individual prizes, as well as class prizes and an all-school assembly!
How much do we need to raise this year? Our Fun Run goal this year is $53,500 ($45,000 in cash donations and $8,500 in corporate matching donations.) This breaks down to $78 per student before matching funds.
What does the PTSA use these funds for? Over the past few years our Fun Run fundraiser has been successful enough to allow us to fund, in part or in full, the following:

- Field Trip Transportation
- Art Enrichment
- Math Night
- Student Directory
- Herbicide-free Grounds Care
- Math Olympiad
