How Donations are Spent
The PTSA Budget Committee works alongside the PTSA Board of Directors to make sure all the financial goals of the PTSA are met for the current fiscal year. This committee meets quarterly to review the current budget, see that the PTSA raises the money it needs, spends the money it makes, and proposes a budget for the next school year.
The proposed budget is reviewed by the Board of Directors and then presented to the general membership at the June meeting at which questions are asked, discussed and resolved. A proposed budget is approved at this meeting, which allows the PTSA to conduct any necessary financial business over the summer months. A final operating budget, which takes into consideration any developments over the summer, is voted on at the general meeting in September or October of each year.
The chart below summarizes how PTSA funds were spent during the 2008-2009 fiscal year.
Members of our PTSA are welcome to request, review and ask questions about PTSA financial documents by attending PTSA board meetings, general meetings or contacting our Treasurer, Beth West-Davis.
Minutes for general and board meetings are also available to PTSA members for review. Please contact our President, Jen Mason, to request copies of meeting minutes.
