Walk Your Child To School Week

This program takes place in early October each year.  Walking to school encourages physical fitness through the easiest-to-do and most enjoyable form of exercise and promotes safety by teaching children the skills to walk safely to school and to identify safe routes to school.

The City of Kirkland sends police officers and firefighters - along with their cool vehicles - to our school one morning before school during this week and the officers and firefighters allow students to sit inside their police cars and fire engines and on top of their motorcycles.

Walking to school during this particular week allows community leaders, parents and children to share valuable time with each other.

For more information, please contact PTSA Walk Your Child to School Week Chair, Sally Kelly.
