As a child in Wisconsin, I knew I would become a teacher. I was influenced in this decision by the many excellent teachers I had. I pursued becoming a teacher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. After graduation I moved to Washington state with my husband David and worked in a research job at the University of Washington until I began a Master’s degree program in Special Education at the University of Washington. After graduation I began working for the LWSD and worked in the Resource Rooms at A. G. Bell and Carl Sandburg Elementary. Eventually I took some time off to be with my two children and later returned to teaching special education at Rose Hill Elementary. I feel fortunate to work with the Rose Hill students and staff. When I am not teaching I enjoy reading and relaxing with family, friends and our chocolate lab Chase.
