I grew up in Southern California. Upon graduating from California State University at Los Angeles in 1975, I began my Special Education career in the Los Angeles Unified School District. After teaching there for 14 years, I relocated to Kirkland, Washington; a place where I wanted to raise my daughter. This is when I began teaching Special Education/Resource Room at Rose Hill Elementary. I was, and still am impressed with the kind-hearted and open-minded attitude of the Rose Hill El students. One of our goals at Rose Hill El is for students to become lifelong learners. I identify with this and completed my Masters degree in Education in 2005. I have one daughter. She attended Lake Washington Schools, including Rose Hill El, and now teaches elementary music in Puyallup. When I am not at school, I enjoy gardening, hiking, beachcombing, and walking my Australian Shepherd, Sally.
