Volunteer Tea

The Volunteer Tea is an annual event that celebrates all Norman Rockwell volunteers. It is a Rockwell tradition that provides an opportunity for staff to thank the many volunteers whose service helps to make Rockwell an outstanding school.
As part of the Volunteer Tea, special awards are given to honor individuals who deserve extra recognition for their services. The Awards committee asks Rockwell staff and parents to help by sending in nominations. The following three types of awards are presented.
Dog Gone awards were given to those volunteers who have given years of service to Rockwell and are in their last year - dog gone it, they're leaving us.
The Bow Wow awards recognize volunteers for their outstanding service to Rockwell students and the community.
Golden Acorn Awards are offered by the WA State PTA for recognition of a volunteer who has given outstanding service to all children in the school community; not just an individual who has donated time to help in his/her child’s class or a staff member who is doing a good job. It is to recognize volunteer service “above and beyond” a particular job description. This year these fabulous women have given and given and given to our kids. It is volunteers such as these that make Rockwell the wonderful place it is.
We volunteers donate our time and energy to the school, PTA and our kids because we care. We do it for the intrinsic joy of giving, not for a reward. But it sure is nice to be noticed and thanked.
