Hello Everybody,
My name is
Pilar López and I am the new
Rockwell Special Needs Families liaison for the 2009-2010 school year. It is my goal during the following year to increase awareness about all kinds of differences in our Rockwell Community. There´s a lot we can do to help our kids live in a world of diversity.
I would like to thank
Betsy McAlister her hard work and dedication in this role during the past years. She will continue her work advocating for our kids from other venues, but will still be a key resource for me and for all of us at Rockwell.
It is never too early to start preparing for next school year and I have some projects in mind for which I´m going to need your input and, yes, your help!. You don´t have to be a parent of a special needs kid to get involved. Let´s all work together to make our Rockwell community a more inclusive one!
Please email me during the summer or at any time and find out what´s going on and how you can help:
ciberpilar@hotmail.com, or you can email me through
Sue Jobst,
mjobst@lwsd.org if you prefer. Our very Special Teacher is busy right now moving the Resource Room to the Sixth Grade Pod, but I´m sure she won´t mind forwarding your mails to me.
Have a great summer!
Pilar
