Spring Charity Drive To Benefit Cheerful Givers
New Toy Drive Next Week!
Norman Rockwell’s New Toy Drive, which will benefit Cheerful Givers, takes place next week. Cheerful Givers provides toy-filled birthday gift bags to local food banks, including Hopelink, so that parents living in poverty can give their child a birthday gift. Cheerful Givers asks that donated toys be new, small enough to fit into a standard-sized gift bag, appropriate for both boys and girls, and safe for children as young as 3 and as old as 12. A collection box for the donated toys will be located outside the office in the courtyard. Look for a flyer coming home this week with a list of suggested gift items, and start shopping!

Trick or Treat For UNICEF
As part of our Kids Care PTA program, Rockwell Elementary is excited to again be participating in UNICEF’s Trick-or-Treat program. The past two years have been so successful, and hopefully you will be just as enthusiastic.
UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, has been helping millions of children in 156 countries for over 75 years. They are improving children’s lives with education, immunization, clean water, emergency assistance, and nutrition. Since the program began, American children, their schools, families, and communities have raised over $136 million for the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF program. 91% of donations go directly to programs that help kids.
Rockwell is going to help by collecting money on Halloween. Every penny counts: 7 cents buys a box of crayons for a classroom; 80 cents can immunize one child against measles; $1.05 can provide a child with a pencil, a pen, and paper for school.
