Art Docent Program
The PTA provides monthly art instruction to all 1st-6th grade classes. The curriculum was developed in coordination with the Seattle Art Museum. If you would like to be an art docent, no art training or experience necessary, please email Myriam Pollock at myriam.jim@comcast.net.
Math In Action
Math in Action is a collection of math enrichment programs available for Norman Rockwell's students consisting of: MIA Classes, MIA Online Program, and weekly Math Challenges. Reflections
Designed to enhance rather than replace a quality arts education, the National PTA Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts. The program theme for 2011-2012 is "Diversity Means..." This year's deadline for submitting art entries for Reflections is October 28, 2011. Entry packets can be found on the bulletin board in the main school courtyard, specific to each art category .. Educational Assemblies
Each year the Rockwell PTA brings in a variety of education programs to supplement the kids learning. Author Visits
The PTA sponsors Authors to visit with students to explore the writing process. If you have questions, please email Diane Davenport at DDavenport@lwsd.org.
Salmon in the Classroom
The PTA sponsors Rockwell’s certified salmon hatchery. Part of the 4th grade curriculum, students raise, care for and then release salmon, maintaining a school tank. Chairpersons are Andrew & Cheryl Koeppen.
Science Van
The PTA sponsors the Pacific Science Center’s Science on Wheels visit to Rockwell. It is two full days of math and science learning. If you have questions or would like to help please email Marie Hewitt at mhewitt@lwsd.org.
Field Day
