The Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) is a measurement tool used by the state to measure proficiency in reading, writing, and math in order to meet standards to graduate from high school.

English Language Learner (ELL)
Lake Washington School District’s ELL program empowers ELL students to achieve English language competency, and academic success, while honoring and preserving students’ cultural identity.
QUEST - Application and enrollment information
Accelerated academics for qualified students in first through ninth grade. Applications are now being accepted for the 2009-2010 school year. Deadline is December 3rd at 4:00 p.m.
Preschool - Overview, application and enrollment information
Norman Rockwell is one of the district's locations for a Ready Start/Head Start preschool program.

 Choice Schools

Stella Schola
A public school offering a rich, classical learning environment based on historical themes for 6th through 8th grades. A mandatory Information Night for interested parents and their students, will be held on Wednesday, January 14th from 7 - 9:00pm in the Rose Hill Jr. High cafeteria, 13505 NE 75th in Redmond.
Community School
A child-centered alternative school with parent participation. Consists of multi-age classes, grades 1 through 6. For Fall 2009 enrollment, parents must attend an informational night at the school, scheduled for January 15th, at 7:00pm.
Explorer Community School
Offers a small elementary school environment staffed by three certified teachers in multi-aged classrooms grades one through six. Explorer's curriculum promotes academic excellence, strong self esteem, a love of learning and a belief in the importance of community. For Fall 2009 enrollment, parents must attend an Information Night - Thursday, January 22, 2009 6:30 to 8:00pm at the Emily Dickinson school commons - 7040 208th Ave. NE in Redmond.
