Reflections
A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas. Only original works of art are accepted. The six art areas are: Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, Film/Video and Choreography/Dance.

John Muir Students - the time is NOW to contribute a piece for the Reflections national art competition.  If you are interested, be sure to pick up an Entry Form and Rules on the board outside the Office, or find the Reflections packet you received in your Friday Flyer.  If you aren’t doing a project in your classroom then consider doing one at home with your family over the next two weekends!  This gives you plenty of time to write a story or poem, or create some artwork, then fill out the entry form with your parent.  So consider taking an hour to be creative in one of the following categories:

Visual Arts, Photography, Literature, Film, Music Composition or Dance Choreography

Important dates:

October 26-28 (Monday – Wednesday) – collection box for submissions at John Muir.  Students may submit one entry per category.  There will be special recognition for the class with the most participation!

November 11 – Independent judging will be completed and school finalists selected.  All participants will receive certificates and appreciation.

November 12 (Thursday) – John Muir annual art show planned, in conjunction with PTSA meeting that evening

January 8, 2010 (Friday) – Those entries going on to the LWSD competition will be displayed at the Council Reflections Reception – 6:30p.m. (come see all the wonderful art from throughout our school district!)

February 1 – 28 – sample of John Muir finalists’ artwork to be displayed at the Kingsgate Library
