My name is Keri Levinson and I am so excited to join the second grade team at Lakeview this year. I grew up in the San Diego area, but always had family in the Northwest and knew that someday I wanted to move here. I made the move in the early 90’s to finish college at SPU. I also began my education career in the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) during that time as an instructional assistant and coach at Finn Hill Junior High.
After I finished my degree in History/Political Science and received my teaching certificate, I began my teaching experience in the Northshore School District at Kenmore Elementary teaching third and fourth grade and working as a science specialist for grades K-6. I then moved to Fernwood Elementary where I taught fifth grade as a science specialist. The past two years I have been a substitute in the LWSD. I have taught in many, many, schools, and many classrooms. I am excited to use this knowledge and experience in our classroom this year!
My basic teaching philosophy is that ALL children are capable and are priceless parts of our team. Each student has something to contribute to our class to help us all to learn. I strive to challenge my students to be their very best and to meet and exceed the goals they set for themselves. My goal for them is to have each child feel valued and to reach their personal best at all they do both academically and socially.
Besides being a teacher, I am a wife and a mom. My husband and I have three children. Emma is nine and a fourth grader at Peter Kirk, Olivia is six and a new full day Kindergartener also at Kirk, Caleb is three and in preschool at Bucky Beaver. We enjoy traveling, camping, cooking and entertaining, and trying new fun restaurants.
