Welcome to the Lakeview Elementary Physical Education (PE) program!

I have had the pleasure of living and working in the Lakeview community for over 20 years. The 2009-2010 year will be my seventh year at Lakeview as the PE teacher.

I grew up in Wenatchee, Washington with my parents, one older brother and two older sisters. I participated in many school and community athletic, music and art programs. I graduated from Washington State University, attended a semester at the University of Copenhagen and earned my Master's in Education several years ago. My first ten years of teaching was at the high school level and then I discovered the joys of teaching PE with elementary students; I love their enthusiasm!

My husband and I have three children who loved their years at Lakeview. Alexandra, 23, graduated from UW and will spend the fall attending courses in Rome before returning to her job where she is a computer systems professional. Danielle, 21, is a sophomore at Seattle Pacific University and works as a DJ for a local radio station. Sherman Michael, 17, is a sophomore in high school and because of him we spent a great summer participating in the world's remote control sailplane competition in Adapazari, Turkey. As a family, we enjoy biking, skiing, and all of the great things you can do in Kirkland!

My goals are:

• work with the fabulous Lakeview PTSA (Thank you, Lakeview families, for funding the beautiful climbing wall for our gym!)
• develop more fitness programs for the Lakeview community
• communicate with you about the direction of physical education in our district
• promote and expand the "Lakeview Marathon", a fun all school recess fitness event
