I am so excited to join the staff at Lakeview as librarian! I love helping kids learn, books, and technology; the combination of which made me want to become a school librarian. My past 27 years have been spent as a classroom teacher; the last 12 at Margaret Mead Elementary on the Sammamish Plateau.
My huband and I both grew up in Bellevue, graduating from Sammamish High School in 1975. My college experience included Western Washington University, Bellevue Community College and finally, University of Washington. I graduated from UW in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and my teaching certificate. My library endorsement was earned in 2008. During my career, I have taught in Northshore, Anaheim (CA), Auburn, Issaquah and Lake Washington.
My husband, Mark, has his own optometric practice in Issaquah. We have one son, Nick, who just graduated from Eastlake High School. Hooray!!! We like to ski, hike, bike, get together with friends and family, and travel.
I am thrilled to be working with the Lakeview community; getting to know the boys and girls and their families. I am also anxious to be working in Kirkland, with all that it has to offer. It is one of the showcases of the northwest, and I'm delighted that I'll get to spend so much time here.
Please drop by the library and introduce yourself to me when you are at school! I look forward to meeting you.
