I was born in Southern California and moved to Seattle when I was five years old. I still live in the same neighborhood I grew up in. I graduated from University of Washington where I also earned my teaching certificate. I have a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Teaching and working with students and their families is a great joy for me. I have been teaching since 1990.
My family always had pets – cats, a dog, birds, lizards, and the occasional pet rat, hamster, or gerbil. We are thinking about getting a dog now. As a kid I enjoyed synchronized swimming, riding my bike, skiing, reading, playing tennis, and playing with my friends. I play tennis, swim, and play soccer now.
The book that I enjoyed most in second grade was called No Flying in the House. I liked it so much I named my daughter after the main character, Anabel. ( I changed the spelling though because I like double letters.) My husband and I named our son after his great grandfather Max.
I feel lucky to work at Lakeview with such wonderful coworkers, families, and students.
