I am starting my 26th year of teaching. I began my career by teaching children with special needs, then I became a .5 kindergarten teacher for six years. Next I began job sharing with Kellie Adams. She and I shared third grade for five years and fourth grade for seven years. After 21 years, I have decided to join the ranks of the full timers! This is my first year teaching 6th grade and I am very excited about this change. This is my sixteenth year at Lakeview and enjoy this community immensely!
On to the family - I live in Kirkland with my husband, Jerry, and son Riley (18). Erin, my daughter, lives on the west side and is a senior at the University of Washington while Riley is a senior at Lake Washington High - Go Kangs! As a family we enjoy traveling, reading, running, street scrambles, bicycling, hiking, exploring the NW, visiting our extended family, having Grammy over for Sunday night dinner, watching movies and documentaries and especially sitting around talking. A new adventure this year is taking a 'Learn to Row' class at Lake Union Crew.
When I am not working, you may see me at Children’s Hospital rocking the babies in the evenings, having coffee with my sister Cindy and friends, out running and now perhaps rowing???
As a little girl growing up in a small town (Montesano,WA), I never thought I would live in such a vibrant, suburban city, have opportunities to travel the world and teach in such a fine community filled with so many wonderful people.
