I am a native of the Pacific Northwest and was born and raised in the Seattle area. I have been teaching in the Lake Washington School District since 1990. Over the course of my career, I have taught physical education, 6th grade, 5/6 multiage, traffic safety, and coached girls’ volleyball. I am a graduate of the University of Washington where I played on the volleyball team and earned a B.A. in Kinesiology. Prior to teaching I worked in the fitness and health care industry for several years before deciding to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. I enrolled at City University where I earned both a B.A. and M.A. in education and then started my career teaching in LWSD. I live in Kirkland with my husband Craig and my 5-year-old daughter Dain. I am very active and enjoy many different sports, camping, hiking, boating, bicycling, gardening, traveling, reading, and keeping fit.
