Mrs. Hynden was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil but grew up in Southern California and Spokane, WA She moved to Seattle for college.
She recalls being very shy when little, but her favorite year in elementary school was 5th grade when she played Lady Mac Duff in Shakespeare’s play “Macbeth”. She was “killed” off stage, and got to scream. It was very exciting. Her favorite elementary teacher was Mrs. Daniels. She had high expectations and was stern at times, but was unable to finish reading Where the Red Fern Grows to the class because she was in tears. A student had to read for her.
Mrs. Hynden has taught at a few different schools, and AG Bell tops the list! She loves the people she works with, and they work with the best families in the world!
Her husband, Steve, is a school counselor in the district. They have two children: a 7th grade girl and a third grade boy attending schools in the LWSD. Everyone has the same school schedule so they can enjoy time off together. They have a dog named Hershey. Having grown up in California, she loves going to the beach and hearing the waves. They like to camp and backpack in the summer. Her favorite Washington hikes starts at Lake Ozette and continues on a three mile boardwalk out to the beach at Sandpoint. Mrs. Hynden loves a good bargain, and has been spotted at one of her favorite shopping spots “Value Village”.
Her mom has always been her role model. She loves unconditionally and always looks at the world and sees the positive.
