Mrs. Flowers grew up in Bellevue and Kirkland. She attended Surry Downs Elementary in Bellevue. Every fall, the students would harvest hazelnuts from the orchard on the school’s grounds. The hazelnuts were sold as a school fundraiser. Her favorite school memory is of fall afternoons picking hazelnuts with her friends. They did a fair share of eating, too! She attended Rose Hill Junior High and graduated from Lake Washington High School.
The Flowers household is full and busy! She lives with her husband, a high school aged daughter, 1 dog, 2 cats, and one 1 guinea pig. She enjoys cooking/baking, reading, walking, kayaking, skiing, biking, and snowshoeing. She has to keep up with a very active husband and daughter. Her parents have been great role models of unconditional love and extreme problem solving. Her husband has taught her that playing hard and a sense of humor can take a person just about anywhere.
This is her second year teaching at Bell. Inclusiveness and collaboration among staff, parents, and community for positive student learning is her favorite thing about being at Bell.
