Audubon's Lunch Buddy Program
On this page you will find information about Audubon’s Lunch Buddy Program.

Audubon Elementary always is in need of more lunch buddies for our Lunch Buddy Program. This is a one-on-one mentoring program matching adult mentors from the community with students who are in need of the benefits of  friendship with a caring adult volunteer. The rewards are huge with a minimal commitment of one lunch hour per week on a regular basis with a student in grades 1 through 6.

Unfortunately this is NOT a program of parents coming to eat lunch with their own children. We are looking for members of our local community (friends, relatives, co-workers, etc.) who would love a chance to serve our school community through this avenue of providing a positive relationship with a student in need of some extra attention and help.

Do you or your spouse know of any co-workers who have a heart for kids and would love to come spend their lunch time with one of our Audubon students eating lunch together, playing games, sports, crafts or helping them with schoolwork? Or would you be able to post a flyer about our program at your business (if in the local Redmond/Bellevue area), your local church, sports club/exercise facility, or  neighborhood clubhouse/cabana? Any help you could give us to spread the word about this worthwhile program would be most appreciated!

FYI….Microsoft  participates in a very generous volunteer matching program wherein Audubon Elementary’s PTSA can receive monetary contributions in exchange for each hour that a Microsoft employee volunteers in our school. This means the more Microsoft volunteers we have, the more funds will go to our fabulous PTSA!  Those Microsoft dollars translate into more grants for classroom spending, more supplies, and more supplementary materials. It also means more visiting artists, authors and actors!

If you know of someone who would be interested in becoming a lunch buddy, or if you would be willing to post or distribute some flyers for us, please email Suzi Desimone, Lunch Buddy Coordinator, or call at (425) 881-9575, ext. 104.  Thank you all very much!!
