We’re excited to offer a terrific after-school art program at Alcott! We’ll explore the world of art using a variety of media such as pencil, watercolor, acrylics, oil pastels, collage, and more. You’ll love our wonderful and original works of art! Three classes are available
*Mondays: 3:35 to 4:35, grades 2-3
*Tuesdays: 3:35 to 4:35, grades 2-3
Tuesdays: 4:40-5:40, grades 4-6
(*First graders are welcome if space allows.)
Art Club meets weekly, October through May
Semester One: Oct 10-Jan 31 Semester Two: Feb 6-May 29
No class on school holidays: Dec 19, 26, Jan 2, Jan 16, Feb. 20, April 2, 3, May 28
Fees are $200 per semester (Check payable to Alcott PTSA)
Class size is limited to 18 artists (10 artist minimum)
Registration is from Sept. 6th to Sept. 21st. Email me to register.
If needed, a lottery will be held on September 22nd. Once enrolled, fees must be paid by September 27th to hold your spot. (Students may join at any time during the semester if space is available.)
GRADES 4-6: We’d like to offer a supervised "Homework Club" for those students waiting for the later class, provided we have a room and parent supervisors. We need a parent volunteer to coordinate this. We can’t do it without you- so let me know if you can help!
Background:
I’m Stephanie Allgood. I have a BA in Art, a MA in Education. I’ve taught art in various settings for over 25 years. Teaching after school art at Alcott Elementary for the past 13 years has been great, as well as at Dickinson the past 6 and Rosa Parks for 5 years. Dave and I are the parents of five and we have four grandkids. You might find me drawing, reading, quilting, or riding my bike in my free time.
