PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES

ON SNOW DAYS!

 Dear Parents:

If it snows overnight, it is your responsibility to check in the morning to see if schools are open, closed, or running on a late start schedule.

There are several ways to do this:

·         Listen to the radio or   watch local news on TV. Check the LWSD Emergency Operating Schedule Page for the radio and TV stations that will carry the LSWD school change announcement as well as more infomation regarding schedule changes.  LWSD Emergency Schedule Page

·         Check on the snow routes for your child's bus route.  Snow Route Page   After you click on the bus routes link you will get a prompt for the versatrans system.  The user name is guest and the password is guest.  Follow the steps to get your child's snow route.

·         Go to the LWSD website: http://www.lwsd.org

(a red alert will be placed on the LWSD main page if schools are late or closed.)

·         Go to the Alcott website: http://www.lwsd.org/school/alcott

(a red alert will be placed on the Alcott’s main page if schools are late or closed.)

·         Go to the School Report website for updated information on all school districts: http://www.schoolreport.org

If schools are running on a late start schedule, school will start at 11:00 AM and students may begin to arrive at 10:45 AM. It is NOT permissible for students to be at school prior to the late start arrival time as there is no adult supervision available.
