Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new school year at Rose Hill Junior High!  When I welcomed our students last Tuesday morning or afternoon, I spoke to them about the extraordinary place a junior high school can be for them – a place to make new friends and to try new classes and activities.  Most importantly, though, I shared with them that it is a place where students are enriched and empowered through connection, value, and challenge.  For students to be successful in school, they need to have a connection with adults and other students, they need to feel that their participation in class has value, and they need to be challenged.  Our Rose Hill Junior High Staff is committed to help each student with connection, value, and challenge.  I also spoke of respect – respecting adults, respecting each other, and respecting themselves.  I challenged students to think about connection, value, and challenge through the lens of respect, and I let them know that they will be enriched and empowered by respecting adults, respecting each other, and respecting themselves.

Student Handbook Parent Signature Page – Students went over school rules and expectations at a grade level assembly.  Please read through our school rules and expectations in the front part of the student handbook, sign the page, and return it to your student’s 1st period teacher.  We have changed our Honor Level System to make it more friendly to students, parents, and staff and this new information has been taped in each student handbook.  If you have any questions regarding school rules and procedures, please contact our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Bowser, ebowser@lwsd.org.
