Thank you to the many parents who helped us with Health Screening last Tuesday.  You were the reason that everything went so smoothly, with students in and out of the library in a very timely manner.  We could not have done nearly as well without your help!  (You know who you are – Thank you so much!)

 

Grandparent’s Luncheon – Our Grandparent’s Luncheon is on Tuesday, November 20th, beginning at 12:45 pm.  I have attached the reservation form with this email.  Please return the reservation form and check to Rose Hill Junior High by Friday, November 16th.  Questions about Grandparent’s Luncheon?  You may email me, jellis@lwsd.org, and I will forward your email to our PTSA parents.

2nd Quarter Sports Parent Night - Parents of second-quarter athletes are strongly encouraged to attend the parents meeting on Tuesday 11/13 at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. AMC Math Test - On November 13th, 7th and 8th grade students at Rose Hill will be taking the American Mathematics Competition test during reading period and part of 3rd period.  If you have questions about this competition, you may contact Katie Folkman, cfolkman@lwsd.org.

 

Study Zone  - Redmond and Kingsgate Libraries have free tutoring during their Study Zone.  Redmond Library’s study zone is Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  Kingsgate Library’s study zone is Sunday, 2:00 – 4:00 pm, Monday, 4:00 – 6:00 pm, and Tuesday and Thursday, 4:00 – 8:00 pm. 

 

Gourmet Chippery Cookie Dough Fundraiser - RHJH PTSA is having a cookie dough fundraiser starting this week November 5th and running through November 19th.  Parents - this is a great opportunity to stock-up on cookie dough to have for the holidays and to give as gifts.  Please encourage your co-workers, friends, and family to purchase cookie dough from you.  Money raised will help pay for RHJH academic related needs like the Honor Level Award program, books, and teaching supplies.  Look for an order form coming home with your student this week.  Please return your order form and check with your student to school.  The yummy Gourmet Chippery Cookie Dough tubs will be delivered the week of December 10th and just in time for Winter Break.  Thank you for your support!  Questions about this fundraiser may be directed to Mrs. Hamilton, susanhamilton9@comcast.net.

 

Drop-In Drama Classes - The Director and Author of RHJH Spring Play, Deonn Ritchie, is offering drama instruction this fall. This is a extraordinary opportunity to learn from a highly talented theatre professional. The classes cover all levels of theatre experience and include Theatre 101, Auditioning for Musical Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Musical Reading from the new play, The Adventures of the Marquis du Carabas. Classes are $12.00 each and every Tuesday after school 2:30-5:00 pm, November 20th-December 18th. Please see the flyer attached for further details. Lake Washington Snowsports Council - Information Night at Rose Hill Junior High School Thursday, November 8th, 7:00 - 8:30 pm in the cafeteria.  Lake Washington Snowsports Council, an all volunteer, not for profit organization, invites students in grades 4 through 12 to join us for another exhilarating season at Alpental at Snoqualmie Summit!  Our 2007-2008 lesson and transportation program runs Saturdays, from January 12th through March 8th. We offer lessons for all abilities, novice to expert. Our comfortable coach buses, equipped with restrooms, depart from the Lake Washington School District High Schools.  Discounts are available on season passes to the Summit at Snoqualmie and on rental equipment through our program. Sign-up for Rose Hill's Spring Play  - Come join the fun and sign-up for the play The Adventures of The Marquis du Carabas.  Book written by Deonn Ritchie.  Music and Lyrics by Kim Douglass.  Presented to you by RHJH PTSA and Bellevue Children’s Theatre.  

From the authors who brought you Suds, We’re Having A Ball and the Emperor’s New Clothes comes a new musical for all ages! Join Marcel, a young kitchen assistant at Le Patisserie Le Chat, and a mischievous runaway feline on the adventure of a lifetime or nine. Jam packed with mistaken identities, romance, magic, danger, and intrigue, The Adventures of the Marquis du Carabas is plenty of fun for audiences of all ages and a great showcase for up to 40 students.

Space is limited to 40 students and we already have 20!  Secure your spot by turning in your application form and check right away. Sign-ups end when spaces are filled or by Dec 10th. Auditions start Jan 7th, rehearsals are Jan 14 - March 5th, and performances are March 6 - 8th.
