Inclement Weather

Starting at 5:30 am, local radio and TV stations will announce which plan the district will use. Plans will be updated if conditions  change.     

No announcement means normal operation.

Other stations will also be making announcements, however, the above stations make announcements most frequently.
When emergency conditions cause a change in school schedules, the Lake Washington School District will use one of the following plans:

 
School Closed

The following are cancelled: school, Extended Day Care, all activities including athletic events and parent meetings. (If conditions change, special arrangements may be made for some activities.)

 
Late Start and Limited Bus Service

Under this plan, elementary schools will start 1 & 1/2 hours late and bus routes will be limited.

Dismissals will be at regular times unless otherwise announced. When necessary, early dismissal times are announced before noon. Extended day care will be on time.

The following programs are cancelled: Quest pullout classes, morning kindergarten, before school band, morning special education preschool and morning Headstart. Out of district transportation will also be cancelled.

 
Special Announcement

A variation of the above plans will be announced if necessary due to a power failure or other conditions.
