Evergreen Middle School team wins big at National History Day event

For months, a team of eighth graders from Evergreen Middle School conducted extensive research on the Tuskegee Airmen. Their hard work paid off last week when their 10-minute documentary, “The Tuskegee Airmen: Courage Knows No Color,” was named National Champion in the Junior Group Documentary category of the National History Day competition.

The goal of the communications department is to engage our communities, including parents, students, staff and community members. We provide information through a variety of media. Those communication tools include this website, social media, newsletters and more. Our goal is to provide all stakeholders the information they need. We also gather feedback to help the district make critical decisions and to continue to improve.

Lake Washington School District (LWSD) is located between Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains, to the east of Seattle. Covering 76 square miles, LWSD is the public school district for the cities of Kirkland and Redmond as well as about half of Sammamish. On the north end of the district, some Bothell and Woodinville residents also attend our schools. The district map shows school locations and boundaries.
