Participation

Always participates with enthusiasm.

 Participates with enthusiasm most of the time.

 Attempts to participate with enthusiasm some of the time.

*Accurately completes activities supporting curriculum concepts

 *Students trying to earn a Level4 grade will independently complete "Above and Beyond" activities.  Ideas to satisfy this requirement are:

Perform during recital day.

Complete a music puzzle.

Write a rhythm piece.

Write a melodic piece.

Read about a famous composer and write a paragraph about what you read.  Share it with the class.

Listen to a piece of classical music. (See handout.)

Attend a music concert.  (School band and orchestra concerts, Sammamish Symphony, Seattle Symphony...) Bring program or ticket to school.

Visit a music museum i.e. EMP, Soundbridge...
