Last week, schools around Lake Washington School District celebrated the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Students learned about and honored his nonviolent contributions to the Civil Rights Movement.
These groups provide input on major issues or decisions facing the district. They often include a mix of parents, community members, and staff members, such as principals.
College & Career Readiness Task Force - Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding options for grades 9-12.
Long-Term Facilities Task Force - Recommends long-term facilities strategy to the School Board. Report recommendations, accepted by the board in November 2015, became the basis for a planned set of bond measures.
School/Home Communications Task Force - Explores best practices in school communication with families.
School Start Time Advisory - Reviews potential school start time options, continue to engage stakeholders in input and feedback processes, and will ultimately make a recommendation for school start and dismissal times.
