Calendar

  1. End Results 1 (ER-1) will be monitored annually in April.
  2. End Results 2 and 3 (ER-2 and ER-3) will be monitored annually as follows:
    1. Literacy and Language - October
    2. Mathematics - November
    3. Science - December
    4. Interdisciplinary Skills and Attributes - February

Accordingly, the CEO shall:

  1. Establish, monitor, and assure progress toward board-approved performance targets aligned with the Student Learning Milestones:
    1. Early Literacy and Reading Skill Development;
    2. 3rd Graders on Track for Success;
    3. 5th Graders’ Overall Readiness for Middle School;
    4. 8th Graders’ Overall Readiness for High School; and,
    5. High School Students on Track for Graduation.
  2. Monitor and assure that current year student performance is comparable to student performance in comparable districts in Washington State (n>6500).
  3. Monitor and assure that student performance is improving.
  4. Monitor and assure that opportunity and achievement gaps are closing by monitoring student performance by race, gender and program participation, including free or reduced lunch, Special Education and English Learner program.
  5. Monitor and assure that the district’s instructional program focus enables student to learn the skills attributes, and content knowledge specified within the district’s Student Profile and supports the accomplishment of performance targets for the indicators associated with the Student Learning Milestones.
  6. Monitor and assure that each school’s Continuous Improvement Process Plan supports the accomplishment of the performance targets for the indicators associated with the Student Learning Milestones.

Monitoring Data
Data will:

  1. District level data will be presented, built upon actual individual student performance
  2. At least five years of data will be presented where possible, presented on line graph
  3. Data will be disaggregated by groups (race/ethnicity; free/reduced lunch; gender; program participation)
    1. Gap data will be presented for current year in all areas
  4. Clean cohort data will be presented and disaggregated for current grade 2 DIBELS (2,1, K)
  5. Clean cohort data will be presented and disaggregated for current grade 8 showing performance in grades 7,6,5,4 & 3
  6. Gap trend data will be presented with absolute scores charted on a line graph that shows line and gap between

Established Indicators for ER-1: Mission and Vision

  1. On-time graduation rate, including number of non-graduates with reasons and dropout rate, as measured by district data
  2. Extended graduation rate
  3. % of 11th and 12th grade students enrolled in a dual credit college-level course earning a B or above
  4. % of students taking at least one AP exam
  5. % of students passing an AP exam
  6. % of graduates enrolled in a post-secondary institution within 2 years of graduation

Established Indicators for ER-2/3: Literacy and Language

  1. % of students who Demonstrate Characteristics of Entering Kindergartners in literacy and language based on WaKIDS whole-child assessment
  2. % of kindergartners at benchmark on End-of-Year Dynamic Indicators of Early Literacy (DIBELS)
  3. % of 3rd graders meeting or exceeding state standards in English language arts/literacy
  4. % of 5th graders meeting or exceeding state standards in English language arts/literacy
  5. % of 8th graders meeting or exceeding state standards in English language arts/literacy
  6. % of 9th graders earning full credit in English/Language Arts
  7. % of 11th graders meeting or exceeding state standards in English language arts/literacy
  8. % students earning a Washington State Seal of Biliteracy

Established Indicators for ER-2/3: Mathematics

  1. % of students who Demonstrate Characteristics of Entering Kindergartners in mathematics based on WaKIDS whole-child assessment
  2. % of 3rd graders meeting or exceeding state standards in math
  3. % of 5th graders meeting or exceeding state standards in math
  4. % of 8th graders meeting or exceeding state standards in math
  5. % of 9th graders earning full credit in math
  6. % of 11th graders meeting or exceeding state standards in math

Established Indicators for ER-2/3: Science

  1. % of 5th graders meeting or exceeding state standards in science
  2. % of 8th graders meeting or exceeding state standards in science
  3. % of 9th graders earning full credit in science
  4. % of 10th graders meeting or exceeding state standards in biology

Established Indicators for ER-3: Interdisciplinary Skills and Attributes

  1. % of students avoiding chronic absenteeism
  2. % of students avoiding behaviors resulting in discipline (suspension/expulsion)
  3. % of students avoiding “at-risk” behaviors (tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, illegal drug use) as self-reported on the Healthy Youth Survey
  4. % of students who know how to handle disagreements, solve problems, consider effects of decision, and be empathetic as self-reported on the Healthy Youth Survey
  5. % of students who report being physically active 60 minutes per day, 7 days a week as self-reported on the Healthy Youth Survey  
  6. % of students that have opportunities for involvement in school activities as self-reported on the Healthy Youth Survey  
  7. % of students participating in district athletics
