Accessibility of Records

The District believes that providing and sharing official District information with the public is of mutual benefit. The District shall therefore comply with the Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56) which requires that identifiable records be made available to members of the public for inspection and/or copying, unless the records requested are exempt from public disclosure under state or federal law.

Certain information designated confidential may also be withheld from disclosure under Washington law, including but not limited to, information in students’ files, employees’ personnel files, confidential memorandum within management, and communications regarding strategy and parameters in negotiations with employees.

The District procedures, KBA-R, is in accordance with this policy and provide the public with access to District records accordingly

A community volunteer works with an elementary school student
