Nonschool Employment by Professional Staff Members

File: GCQA

All school personnel are employed for a specific job in the schools. It is understood that the duties of each position shall be carried out to the satisfaction of the superintendent of schools, the principal, and supervisors. The board recognizes the right of each individual to improve themselves financially.

Personnel of the schools may receive compensation for outside activities as long as these activities do not interfere with the proper discharge of their assigned duties. At no time is it appropriate for a teacher to take time off with pay in order to handle any outside compensated business.

It is expected that any outside activity should be carried on in a business-like and ethical manner.
