Design and Construction Advisory Committee

Purpose of Design and Construction Advisory Committee:
To provide industry expert advice on new school design and construction to ensure alignment with district design standards and the district’s goal of making school buildings and sites effective and efficient in design, construction and operation.

Responsibilities:
The committee will provide advice on each major school construction (new, rebuild or modernization) project during concept design, schematic design, and design development. They will review designs for alignment with the district design principles outlined by the Long-Term Facilities Planning Task Force. Feedback will also be sought on schedules, budgets, materials, phasing, site layout, risk mitigation, construction and constructability, value engineering and project delivery methods.

Meetings:
Three times during the design phase of each project: concept design, schematic design, and design development.

  • Eric Campbell – Main Street Property Group: Residential developer, Long Term Facilities Planning Task Force member and Bond Advisory Committee member
  • Gid Palmer – Microsoft Real Estate and Facilities: Commercial construction manager for Microsoft, former general contractor. 30 years+ experience.
  • Jay Halleran – Lease Crutcher Lewis, Executive Vice President: Commercial Architect. Retired managing partner. NBBJ: 36 years of experience in the design profession on all project types.
  • Lee Kilcup – GLY Construction. Commercial General Contractor. Retired president. 40 years of experience in commercial general contracting in the greater Seattle market.
  • Dale Cote – Lake Washington School District. Director of School Support for the Juanita Learning Community. 30 years of experience as an educator, principal and administrator.
