Position Summary:
The Lake Washington School District seeks an outstanding professional for the position of Sci-Ma-Tech (Science, Math, Technology) teacher. The Sci-Ma-Tech instructor will teach a high quality curriculum that integrates and applies core academic concepts using technology as a process. Each unit of curriculum taught in this program incorporates engineering concepts with a solid component in math, science, technical writing, reading, vocabulary, design, hands-on, and safety.
The instructor will teach shop safety and provide student’s opportunities build projects that meet Career Technical Education (CTE) Sci-Ma-Tech curriculum frameworks standards. The instructor will also teach academic, employability and leadership skills as well as technical skills. This instructor is committed to helping young people achieve success, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and looks for opportunities to expand their capabilities and views education as a partnership of students, staff, parents and community.

Position Summary:
Serve as Case Manager for the IEP of each student assigned to your caseload, including those added as the school year progresses.
Collaborate with special education teaching staff to develop appropriate curriculum, meaningful activities and appropriate educational experience for all students.
Collaborate with related services specialists; to address learning needs and implement accommodations for students in the classroom, collaborate with all classroom staff, monitor environment and child activities for student safety at all times.
Maintain an attitude and environment of welcome and respect for all students, families and staff; demonstrating inclusiveness of all cultures, ethnicities, learning styles and backgrounds.Works with and communicates with outside agencies and/or contractual services as related to students educational plans and classroom success.
Communicate with parents regularly (in-person, telephone, e-mail or written report), regarding student functioning and progress.
Design, arrange and modify the classroom environment to help students achieve relevant District learning goals for their age, and individual goals as specified in each students IEP. Develop special curriculum or modify existing curriculum to meet needs of students.
Direct and supervise assigned para-educators and/or student teachers and volunteers in teaching and attending to the physical needs of students.
Maintain professional relationships with colleagues. Attend and participate in regular team/planning sessions with classroom staff and related services providers; as well as District-wide department team meetings and special education staff.
Write annual IEPs, plan and schedule annual meetings with all appropriate participants, provide appropriate reports and IEP copies to attendees. Document progress updates on goals and objectives and report to parents at least quarterly.
Assess student learning and document student progress to provide feedback to students, parents and administration. Maintain accurate records and complete all required paperwork for assessments and Individual Education Plans within required deadlines, in the format specified by the District (IEPOnline).
Demonstrate self-reflection on teaching/intervention strategies; participate in District-specified format for setting professional goals and completing self-evaluation with supervisor.
Participate in professional activities and in-service training (e.g. classes, workshops, conferences, reading professional literature, supervising student teachers, etc.) to maintain current knowledge of latest developments in the field.
Other appropriate duties as determined by the supervisor.
