Whether you are a brand new teacher or just new to Lake Washington School District, we want you to be prepared to succeed in your classroom from the very first day. Since every district has different curricula, processes and procedures, the New Teacher Institute (NTI) is your chance to get up to speed quickly. For those who have taught one year or less, the New Teacher Support Program (NTSP) provides additional support as you begin your career.
Included in this mandatory training are Content Sessions, New Employee Orientation (NEO), Professional Evaluation Training, and Technology Training.
The program is mandatory for all new certificated hires, no matter how many years of experience an individual may have. Participants are paid for required training at a curriculum rate, according to the district negotiated agreement.
For the brand new teacher
As an educator new to the teaching profession, you will also be part of the New Teacher Support Program (NTSP). This program provides assistance and support to beginning teachers. Participation in the mentoring program is required as a condition of employment.
