Evergreen Middle School team wins big at National History Day event

For months, a team of eighth graders from Evergreen Middle School conducted extensive research on the Tuskegee Airmen. Their hard work paid off last week when their 10-minute documentary, “The Tuskegee Airmen: Courage Knows No Color,” was named National Champion in the Junior Group Documentary category of the National History Day competition.

Growing Together, Serving our Community

Ever-Growing...and Building on Success

It’s official! Lake Washington is now the 3rd largest district in the state. We are proud to be #3!

We are proud to now serve 29,008 students. Lake Washington school district is student centered, learning focused, results oriented, and community connected, and we are proud of the fact that so many families enroll their students in our schools.

Student enrollment continues to rapidly grow. Our 2016-17 enrollment has increased by 1,178 students from 2015-16, and only Spokane and Seattle School Districts are now larger than Lake Washington. As we grow, we want to ensure that Lake Washington continues to be a high performing and successful school district.

- Dr. Traci Pierce, Superintendent.

Through community support and successful passage of levies and bonds, the district is “Building on Success,” which is the name for our long-term plan to continue to build schools and provide quality learning environments and experiences for our ever-growing number of students.

We have developed a short video and dedicated webpages focused on “Building on Success.” I invite you to visit the webpage and view the video to learn more.

We are proud to be LWSD!
