When creating PowerPoint presentations with copyrighted materials, you need to include an opening screen in addition to your works cited slide at the end of the PowerPoint show. Copyrighted materials can include text, images, music, and video clips. The photos that you find in AP Multimedia Archive database, for example, are copyrighted.
Your opening screen should say:
NOTICE: The following presentation contains copyrighted materials used under the Multimedia Guidelines and Fair Use exemptions of U.S. Copyright law. Further use is prohibited.
You may simply copy and paste the above (select "paste special" and choose to paste at text, unformatted text, or unicode text) onto your PowerPoint slide.
For examples of citations of electronic resources such as Web sites, subscription databases, e-mail, and online images, see Electronic Resources Citation Guidelines.
