Running Start

Running Start program allows 11th and 12th grade high school students to take college-level courses at community and technical colleges. Students can earn both high school and college credits through this partnership between the K-12 and community college systems.

Running Start due dates

January 20: I-Search essays submitted to Turnitin.com

February 22nd/23rd: First CP presentation practice (with evidence)

February 29th/March 1st: Second presentation practice, if needed (with evidence)

March 7th/8th: Final Culminating Project presentation (with evidence)

April 13th: High School & Beyond portfolio due

April 13th: Confirm with Mrs Hasslinger that you will/will not be participating in the Graduation ceremony on June 19th, 2012

    Advice on planning your day from what time to get up, where to park, and how much time to set aside for homework.
  • Interview with Norm Wright
    Mr. Wright is the Running Start Coordinator/Academic Advisor at Cascadia Community College. In this interview he answers questions about the transitions students must make, perks of attending Cascadia, changes to the program and future plans for the campus.

    Tips on driving, grades, classwork, homework and other good things to know about being a Running Start student.
