S.T.A.N.D.
Supporting Teens Against Negative Decisions
Purpose: To have a club for students to have a place and a group of friends that they can go to if they have any problems! It's also great to make new friends, remain committed to living a drug-free life and to have something fun to do every month.
Meeting Times: Usually take place the 1st Tuesday of every month in room 139 at 2:15 PM. If you cannot attend the meetings because of sports or other activities, no problem! You can always stop by Mrs. Pauls room for the information or check out the STAND cabinet located in the commons.
Members: Anybody in 7th-9th grade is welcome. Boys and girls can be in STAND and new members are welcome throughout the school year.
Advisor: Mrs. Heidi Paul started this club after the Healthy Youth Survey reported teens on the plateau were using drugs and alcohol because they were bored and had nothing to do.
What STAND stands for: Supporting Teens Against Negative Decisions.
What STAND has done in the past: Broadway musicals, concerts, the Nutcracker, bowling, ice-skating, holiday parties, volunteering at the Senior Citizens center and raised money for the Breast Cancer Walk.
