Meet Our Principal
Find out about Franklin's principal, Kim Bilanko.
My name is Kim Bilanko and I am so proud to be the principal of Ben Franklin Elementary School.  The students, staff and parents truly make this school a special place.  I am looking forward to our 2011-2012 school year!

For those who have not met me, let me introduce myself.  I was raised in Bellevue, WA and attended Western Washington University.  I received my B.A. in Special Education with an Elementary Education endorsement.  I completed my student teaching at Franklin Elementary and Woodridge Elementary School ten years ago.  Since then, I have taught multiple grade levels including Special Education.  I also spent time as a Literacy Coach and mentored teachers in the classroom.  I then received my M.A. in Education (Administration and Supervision) at California State University, Fresno.  With my administrative credential, I then worked as a Vice Principal at both the elementary and secondary level.  I have enjoyed each and every one of my educational experiences and am happy to be the principal at Franklin!

On a personal note, I live in the Kirkland area near all of my family.  I spend my spare time hiking, playing soccer, snowboarding, wake-boarding, camping and relaxing with my family and my dog, Cooper.  I am also a huge Seahawk, Mariner and Husky fan.

Franklin is an exceptional school in which learning thrives.  Our mission is for every student to be equipped with the skills to be life-long learners.  Our vision is that Franklin educators, families and community collaborate to provide a nurturing environment that inspires students to reach rigorous yet attainable social and academic goals.  Together, we can make this happen!

I look forward to our year here at Franklin.  If you ever have any questions or concerns please contact me
