Application Process
When and how can my child apply for the enrollment at EAS?

Keypoints about the Application Process:

  • All Lake Washington School District students entering 6th grade are welcome to apply and must do so in the winter of their 5th grade year.  We only accept lottery applications from students entering 6th grade.  There are no openings at EAS for students entering grades 7, 8 or 9.
  • Application is only open to students whose residence is within the Lake Washington School District boundaries.
  • Placement is determined solely by a blind lottery system so that all who apply have an equal chance to attend.
  • Those who are not selected in the lottery process or who are on a variance in the Lake Washington School District will be put on a wait list.

Mandatory Steps in the Application Process
:

1.       Attend the EAS Parent & Student Information Night.  The date for the EAS Parent & Student Information Night will be shown in the Announcement section on the homepage of the EAS website and is typically held during the month of January.  This is the only time that application packets will be available.  The student applicant is expected to attend this meeting with one or both parents.

2.      Complete all parts of the EAS Student Application Packet and deliver them to EAS by the application deadline.  The application deadline date will be shown in the Announcement section on the homepage of the EAS website.  The EAS Student Application Packet includes:

  • Pre-registration Form (includes EAS Student and Family Contract)
  • Student Information Form
  •  Parent Statement Form
  • Student Statement Form

3.       Following the lottery, those with lottery numbers in the acceptance range must schedule and attend a Parent & Student School Tour. This is a mandatory step prior to acceptance into EAS.
