Unit III begins work with fractions, decimals and percents

Bits and Pieces I is the first of three units to develop understanding of fractions, decimals, and percents. Computation with fractions, decimals and percents will be the focus of Bits and Pieces II at the end of sixth grade. Bits and Pieces III will continue this work in seventh grade). In this unit, students focus on developing a deep understanding of rational numbers. Students will go in depth to explore the meanings of fractions, decimals, and percents. They will become fluent at moving among these three representations of rational numbers.
