Related Services

Special needs students receive the extra services that they need to be successful
in school

Supportive services are provided to assist a child with a disability, allowing them to benefit from special educational opportunities. Related services are carried out at the student’s school, but may include pullout, direct service or consultation and/or collaborative work with the student’s team.

Some special needs students qualify for one or more related services, including:

Speech language pathology (SLP)		Orientation and mobility services
Occupational therapy (OP)		School health services
Physical therapy (PT)		Social work services
Vision therapy		Transportation*
Audiology services		Recreation
Psychological services		Parent/Guardian counseling and training
Counseling

* Special Education transportation is available to special education students who cannot ride the general education bus, and can be part of the student’s IEP, when appropriate.
