Special needs students receive the extra services that they need to be successful
  in school

Supportive services are provided to assist a child with a disability, allowing them to benefit from special educational opportunities. Related services are carried out at the student’s school, but may include pullout, direct service or consultation and/or collaborative work with the student’s team.

Some special needs students qualify for one or more related services, including:

  • Speech language pathology (SLP)
  •  
  • Orientation and mobility services
  • Occupational therapy (OP)
  •  
  • School health services
  • Physical therapy (PT)
  •  
  • Social work services
  • Vision therapy
  •  
  • Transportation*
  • Audiology services
  •  
  • Recreation
  • Psychological services
  •  
  • Parent/Guardian counseling and training
  • Counseling
  •    

    * Special Education transportation is available to special education students who cannot ride the general education bus, and can be part of the student’s IEP, when appropriate.
