Supportive services are provided to assist a child with a disability, allowing them to benefit from special educational opportunities. Related services are carried out at the student’s school, but may include pullout, direct service or consultation and/or collaborative work with the student’s team. Some special needs students qualify for one or more related services, including:
- Speech language pathology (SLP)
- Orientation and mobility services
- Occupational therapy (OP)
- School health services
- Physical therapy (PT)
- Social work services
- Audiology services
- Transportation*
- Psychological services
- Recreation
- Counseling
- Parent/Guardian counseling and training
* Special Education transportation is available to special education students who cannot ride the general education bus, and can be part of the student’s IEP, when appropriate.
